This sapwood tree is characterized by a very clear pattern. The light yellow tough wood is easy to work with, but is quite sensitive to warping. The heartwood is dark in color and is considered inferior by many.

American Ash has approximately the same properties as European Ash . The whitest Ash comes from the state of Georgia in the United States. However, there are a few differences: European Ash is milder and has a more refined structure.
