American walnut can contain sapwood regardless of quality at the (mainly bottom). This is not considered a defect, but is part of the standard and how they therefore sort. We notice that this is most common in the 27mm (20mm) and 41mm (30mm). With the SuperPrime we do our utmost to saw away as much sapwood as possible for you.

American walnut is warm dark brown, the colour differences are less than in European walnut. The sapwood is whitish. Between sapwood and heartwood there can often be a zone of transition wood that is lighter than the heartwood.
