Planks come in all sorts of sizes. To make planks, you need trees, of course, and no two trees are exactly alike. So, for the sawmill, it's always a matter of trial and error to extract as much beautiful wood as possible from each tree. As a result, the planks we receive all vary slightly in size.
It takes quite a bit of effort (and creates a lot of waste) to make all those planks exactly the same dimensions.
How we can prevent unnecessary waste together.
At WoodyWorks, you can get a substantial discount on your order if we determine the plank widths ourselves based on what's currently available.
For example, imagine you need a 450mm wide panel. Normally, you would order three 150mm wide planks. Instead, we supply three planks of different widths for the same total width, so you still get a good total of 450mm, but we can lay out the wood more efficiently.
For example, do you only need one plank for some slats? You can use this option too. If you order a 155mm wide plank, we'll divide it into two sections, for example, 95mm and 60mm.
Why buy extra-wide planks? Want to buy efficiently?
Don't! You're trying to be efficient, but it's actually making you pay more. Planks wider than 180 mm are more expensive in volume (price per cubic meter). By ordering random widths , you don't pay for the waste: we efficiently organize the material for you.
