Tigerwood is a particularly beautiful type of wood, the heartwood of which has an orange-brown colour when freshly processed, often interspersed with dark brown veins. After finishing and exposure to light, the colour quickly turns orange-red-brown to deep red-brown with black stripes or flames. However, there are also batches that are less conspicuously marked, the colour is then orange-red-brown and resembles cherry wood. The sapwood, which is 40-80 mm wide, has a grey-yellow colour.
