Information about this type of wood:
The pale brown heartwood quickly discolours to a beautiful purple-blue when exposed to light. To preserve this color as best as possible, the wood must be properly sealed from the air with wax or certain types of varnish. If the wood is not finished, the purple color will turn to dirty brown. The sapwood is white to gray-brown and is 30-60 mm wide.
